Decided I would do a post on this sponge since I haven't really seen any reviews on it, not to mention its a dupe for the Original Beauty Blender! Its a really good sponge and it works. Morphe did come out with three sponges - Contour & Highlight, Pro Blender & Flawless Beauty. Each sponge has a different shape. Out of the three, I felt I would get more use from the Contour & Highlight shape.
The Morphe Sponges have a soft bouncy texture when used wet. This specific sponge is tapered on both sides, one just comes to a point and the other to a side (which is perfect for contouring hence the name) #duhgabbby. The sponge has a shape that fits comfortably in hand. The roundness makes it easy to use & blends your cream and liquid products to an airbrush finish. The tapered ends fit in those hard to reach places!
I was surprised with how nice it blended my foundation. No patchiness and doesn't absorb a lot of product. I've used matte & hydrating formulas from both foundation and concealer. I've used it to bake with my Coty Airspun and it doesn't leave a like white overlay from the sponge being damp. Something I found interesting is that when I wash it the color doesn't bleed out. I like that the color has stayed & doesn't look an ugly washed out color. (View the last photo to see what I mean.) The sponge on the left was a lot more colorful, had a pretty dark purple & after just three washes lost its color. Makes me think about those other sponges when washed the color bleeds out - like what chemicals are in the sponge? I've had my Morphe Sponge for a couple months now and it hasn't torn/ripped or lost its color!
I will say the Morphe Sponge has a different texture than the Beauty Blender. Like more of a stiff texture & it just blends the foundation/concealer beautifully. (You can kind of see the texture in the last picture!) It's worth yo money!!! Honestly the best dupe for the Original Beauty Blender Sponge. Does a better job than the Real Techniques Complexion Sponge, LO'real Foundation Blender & the Ulta Sponge. Def check the Morphe Sponge out!
